TIPS TO PREPARE FRUIT PUREES FOR BABIES:
Steam the fruits for puree except for a few fruits like Banana, Avocado and Kiwi.
Steaming helps to preserve the nutrients.
After steaming the fruits, they can be blended in a blender or mashed with little breast milk or formula.
Make sure it is runny at first and you can increase the consistency of the puree as days go by.

APPLE SAUCE



INGREDIENTS:


  • 1  apple, peeled, cored and sliced
  • 1 cup water

PROCEDURE:
  1. In a saucepan, bring apples and water to the boil. Simmer for 10 minutes or until the apples are very soft. OR You can steam the apples. it's better so that the nutrients won't get lost
  2. Remove from the heat and allow to cool for a few minutes. Puree using a stick or conventional blender until smooth or push through a sieve
  3. You can add breast milk or formula.

    BANANA PUREE


    INGREDIENTS:
    • 1 Ripe Banana – Bananas do not need to be cooked
    • Water, Formula or Breast Milk as needed
    PROCEDURE:
    1. Peel and cut a ripe banana into small dices
    2. Mash with a fork

    PEAR PUREE:



    INGREDIENTS:
    • 1 small pear
    • A pinch of cinnamon
    PROCEDURE:


    1.  Peel the skin, Cut it into small pieces
    2.  Take a pan, fill with water and place the bowl with pear in it, allow it to boil, cover and cook till it’s done. 
    3.  After cooking the Pear either you can mash the cooked pear by masher  or blender .
    4.  Do not add water, add breast milk or formula feed to make it little runny.
    5.  Finally add a pinch of cinnamon to it.

    AVOCADO PUREE:


    INGREDIENTS:

    HALF AN AVOCADO


    PROCEDURE:

    Cut the Avocado into halves.
    Scoop the contents from it.
    Mash it with fork or blend it in blender

    CARROT PUREE:


    INGREDIENTS:

    • 1 medium carrot
    • Formula or breast milk or cooled boiled water

    PROCEDURE:

    1. Peel carrot, and cut into slices.
    2. Steam for 8−10 min until it becomes soft.
    3. Cool it slightly, add 2 tbsp. of the water or milk..
    4. Blend with a masher or blender.
